It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tony Mc Dermott, the devoted owner of The Mill Park Hotel and The Park Hotel in Kiltimagh. More than our boss, he was our dear friend.
Tony dedicated himself completely to both establishments, putting his heart into every single day. He was a constant, hands-on presence, working alongside every department and never asking of anyone what he wouldn’t do himself. Meticulous in all things, from the manicured grounds to the finest detail in a bedroom, nothing escaped his watchful eye. He took immense pride in ensuring everything was perfect.
But beyond bricks and mortar, Tony built a family. He treated every staff member as his own, fostering a close-knit, supportive environment where everyone looked out for one another. That cherished sense of togetherness is his lasting legacy.
His strength throughout his illness was an inspiration. Tony was also a wonderful storyteller, always ready with advice, a memory, or a kind word to make you smile—conversations we will forever treasure.
He loved nothing more than welcoming guests, who were invariably met with his innate warmth and kindness. That same genuine respect extended to suppliers, tradespeople, and local businesses, with whom he built lasting partnerships.
Tony Mc Dermott didn’t just manage hotels; he created a home. We are eternally grateful to have been part of it. The teams at The Mill Park and The Park Hotel will miss him beyond measure. His presence, his laughter, and his unwavering dedication will remain with us always.
